Getting
started is easy. Here is a step-by-step scenario
to get you started right away...
Call as soon as you
think you may be needing
help. Don't wait until you're in crisis mode. When you call, we can discuss your situation, and
I can answer as many questions as possible. At some point, a visual assessment of your preliminaries will be
required.
Even the crudest sketches are helpful. Here are some options.
Option #1. The quickest way to receive an initial
assessment of your preliminary information is to fax whatever you have. If your
preliminary information is too large to fax, use option #2 below.
Option #2. You may send your sketches,
preliminaries, photos, etc. via
FedEx, Airborne Express, UPS, or US Postal Service*. If you are in
a hurry, use a carrier with an overnight, or a 1 or 2 day delivery option,
depending on the urgency of your schedule. Always send copies and keep your originals. Information
cannot be returned.
*US
Postal Service is not recommended if you are in a hurry.
NOTE-If you select option #2, you may elect to
send a retainer check (Click on Accounting & Fees above for more info.) with your materials. If your
check is included, I will be able to start your project as soon as you give
the go-ahead by phone. If you decide not to start, after your materials are
received, your check will
be returned. If you do not include a retainer check, your project will be delayed
until your check arrives. Also...if you do not have CAD
capability, and you are particular about the way your drawings should look, you
should include a sample set of blueprints from a similar project for reference.
When your
information is received, I will
immediately take a look at it and call you promptly for further discussion.
When
you give the go-ahead to start, we will discuss your current office standards.
If you are currently using AutoCAD, I will
need at least one emailed file containing your typical layers, along with
samples of a similar project for reference.
Typically, actual work begins by blocking out your floor plans from your preliminaries (you may
ask to start with something else if you wish). As soon as your floor plans are blocked
out, I will fax you the progress drawing and call you for discussion. Sometimes,
you can simply mark-up my fax with your comments, and fax it back without a
phone discussion. This process is generally the same throughout the entire project.
Simple and efficient.
